yvonne tropp, long-time CASA volunteer, honored by MHA westchester

SEPTEMBER 2020: CASA of New York State is very proud to announce that Yvonne Tropp, a long-time advocate volunteer with the CASA program of the Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) will be honored for her work and commitment at MHA’s virtual Celebrate the Power of Connection event on October 8th.

For Jackie Boissonnault, the Executive Director of CASA of New York State, Yvonne’s recognition is particularly meaningful. Jackie was formerly the Director of the CASA of Westchester County. In that role, Jackie worked with Yvonne. She knows first-hand just how dedicated Yvonne is, and how deserving she is of this honor.

With a relentless passion for helping individuals in her community, creating resources for the most vulnerable, and advocating for youth in foster care, Mrs. Tropp is a powerful voice for children and families in Westchester.

Prior to her retirement in 2001, Mrs. Tropp led a well-established career in the financial sector, holding positions as Vice-President for the U.S Trust, Merrill Lynch Trust, and Bank of New York. For the past 19 years, she has dedicated her time as a volunteer in MHA’s Court Appointed Special Advocate program, supporting children and teenagers in the foster care system and advocating for their physical and behavioral health, educational needs and more in Family Court. In addition to her unwavering work as a CASA volunteer, Mrs. Tropp joined MHA’s Board of Directors in 2002, where she continually uses her experience to inspire action and inform agency decisions.

Mrs. Tropp holds a degree in Economics and Psychology from Brown University and an M.B.A. from New York University’s Graduate School of Business Administration and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She has served on several other nonprofit Boards, offering her passion and leadership. Yvonne lives in Mamaroneck with her husband Alan Epstein. She is the loving mother to four daughters from her marriage to the late Alan Tropp and has grown her family with the addition of two wonderful step-daughters and numerous grandchildren.
